These are the stem files of all 12 tracks from the "The Crucible" album. Each session is divided into separate stereo stems for drums, bass, sounds, foleys and effects recorded at 24 bit 44khz. Additionally, both the recorded and mastered version of the final mixes are included. Files are available only for download, there is no physical item attached to this

Endless possibilities are overstimulation – psychologists know that, as do Zen Buddhists. Limitation to a certain palette of sounds and instruments is an intelligent way to channel creativity in music.

The Crucible was Kabuki’s laboratory to develop new creative processes throughout the year of 2021. Broadcasting live on his Twitch channel several times per week, the veteran Frankfurt producer established a new routine using a similar sound palette and structure for a month straight, leading to spontaneous interactions with long-time fans and strangers discovering his music for the first time.

These sessions spawned 12 highly emotional beat compositions, rooted in classic hip-hop, fusion jazz, ambient and experimental electronic music – as if Pete Rock and Floating Points had jammed with Boards of Canada in the Scottish highlands. Still, the distinct vibe of the project feels reminiscent of Kabuki’s own 2014 instrumental hip-hop masterpiece “Meditations”. These organic sounds were made for the true connoisseurs of the craft.

»The Crucible« is real music of its times, destined to warm your heart and soothe your soul. Carrying an indestructible sense of hope and positivity, this is collapse-proof headphone music for resilient humans in the age of the long descent.
