»Part One« of the green phase is Kabuki’s very own homage to the mystique of early 1970s library records, their hazy harmonies and smoked-out instrumentation. The track could either from a lost Italian jazz fusion record from 1974 – or from an unreleased episode of LTJ Bukems »Earth« series in the late 1990s. A lost Innervisions remix, maybe?

»Part Two« starts out as an upbeat Gospel-inspired affair but switches gears halfway through, relentlessly pushing forward on a Detroit style bass line and a crisp drum break while floating on the analog warmth of the piano. While »Part One« is more of an introspective affair, »Part Two« remarkably changes the pace while keeping the vibe of the project intact.
