about

»Part One« of the Orange phase kicks things off with a wonky swagger that sounds like the soundtrack to one of these Japanese Kaiju monster movies. Based on strummed acoustic guitars juxtaposed with an off-grid Moog sawtooth bass, you will have to listen on repeat to experience all the details hidden in plain sight.

With »Part Two«, the Orange Phase is being wrapped up in a triumphant tone. This is one of the few major key beats in the series so far, offsetting the reality from outside our window for 4 minutes and 21 seconds. The beat ends in a beautiful rendition of the main theme on the Yanqin, which sounds like a b-side from a lost early 1970s Pharoah Sanders record or some really deep Black Jazz on Strata-East. The creator indeed seems to have a master plan.

For the »Orange Phase«, the following set of instruments was selected:

- Synclavier
- Casio CZ
- EMS Synthi
- Kontakt using the Mallet Flux and Yanqin libraries
- Vox Continental Organ
- Hohner Clavinet
- ARP 2600
- Wurlitzer 200a Electric Piano
- Modular Synthesizer (specifically the Tides module by Mutable Instruments)
- Acoustic Guitar
- Rare groove drum breaks, chopped and screwed (“Fools Gold” is always a winner)
